He's always late

I'm sure everybody knows that one person who is ALWAYS late. Well my friend Tom is always late, which can be annoying sometimes, but generally didn't really affect me ALL that much.
About 6 weeks ago, in an effort to shed a few winter lbs, we started running 4x a week together. Now at first it was nice, because it kept me motivated on the days I didn't want to go. But when we started running, we were doing it at 5pm every afternoon, it then got a bit later, and later. At some point, I realized it was now becoming 7:30. On multiple occasions this interefered with my plans, and I let him know, that we have to back it back down to 6:30 or so.
Now we are up to 9, 9:30, sometimes 10pm before he finally gets over here. If I make an effort to stress that I really really need to go at 7 on the dot, it seems that he is even more late than usual. He jokes about it "oh, I'll even be late for my own funeral" Haha, yeah, it was funny 2 years ago. Now it's seriously becoming irritating.
I keep bringing it up, and I don't know, either he's missing hte point, or shrugging it off, I don't know but it's driving me freaking nuts. My schedules/plans continually get screwed up. And when I go on AIM, sure enough, he's just chilling online, chatting it up, running 3 hours late. :banghead:
I think we've ran in daylight once in teh past 3 weeks now. I'm at about the point where I'm gonna say screw it, and do my own running in the mornings instead. It pisses me off, becuase he's a good friend, and this is such a stupid thing to have an argument over, but the frustration just keeps building each and every day.

Being late is one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate being late no matter whats going on. I say just tell him if he isnt on time your going to run by yourself.

Don't run with him if it's that much of an irritation.

Just run everyday at 5. When he shows up at 9, say you already ran. Simple.

Oh God... I hate this kind of thing so much. My friend "Jim" always does this. A few of us will plan on meeting up for drinks, and 80% of the time we're stuck waiting for Jim. Granted, we still get to go to the bar and wait for 'im, but when it's something like, we have his ticket for a concert and he has to meet us before it, then when he is 45 minutes late, it is indeed a bit inconvenient. :chair:
I feel your pain. Run without him.
