While I'm on the forum I decided to ask a question thats been bugging me for about a month.
What happens when you put a thermostat with a higher or lower temperature?
I mean whats the pros and cons of changing the temp of the thermostat that you are using?
Sorry if it is a stupid question I just was wondering.

A lower temp thermostat can cause better performance as it keeps the air going into the engine cooler so you get more power. A higher temp stat will help with gas mileage but the performace may be lacking. Be careful though because too low a temp stat can cause issues with the fans not coming on when they should and the car will overheat.

So lower temp helps engine performance
And higher temp helps gas mileage
I think I'll just stick with the factory stat.
At least until the one I have goes out...
Then I might change temp and see if I notice a difference.
