Help with glass

My husband is driving me crazy! He can't get the back quarter glass to adjust properly. Top portion of glass will not fit up into the black weatherstripping on the convertible top. Any help/suggestions would be great. Trying to get ready for first show in May.

Sorry someone thinks you can't get a correct answer here - thats not always accurate.
We may not have all the answers, but more often than not you can get some good advice and encouragement.
The rear window has three axis to adjust, so this isn't an easy one as your husband has found out. The way I adjusted my '68 was to loosen all the regulator bolts so that the window will move freely in all directions. Then roll the window all the up and by hand somehow get it to fit upwards exactly where you want it to be. This should tell you if it will fit at all. Tighten the bolts, and work the window up and down. See where it binds up or creeps outward. Loosen the bolts very slightly and one axis at a time try each extreme until a center point is found. It's trial and error, but keep the other two axis tight enough to defeat gravity but loose enough to allow a little drift. There is a center point to each one. Then tighten for good. If you replaced the rubber weatherstripping with new aftermarket stuff, this will take longer and you might be a considerable distance away from where the bolts were originally. From what I've heard, even when these cars were new the windows didn't always seal perfectly. Good luck, and I hope your husband didn't scare the neighbors with bad words being thrown around while trying to get this to fit.

Highlandlake ... it wasnt that I didnt think she would receive the correct info here, rather I didnt know if she would receive ANY info on it and the guys at the teamchevelle site deal with this stuff quite often. I was obviously wrong as you have given a great description of the process. I had done this on a 63 Caddy quite a few years ago and recalled the problems I had which sound just like what her husband is going through.

No offense taken, but thanks for clarifying your reason. There are some questions that never get a single response here at times and Chevelle.com has an active forum and a pretty good archive as an alternative to this one.
