In June 2005, Car & Driver reviewed the 300C SRT8 and said that the differential was Limited-Slip. However, I cannot find this to be confirmed on chrysler.com, drivesrt.com, or anywhere else.... Is this just not true?

I have the same question and could not get a straight answer at the dealer. All the magazine pics show it smoking both rears..a good sign. In the end, I guess you may have to ask the dealer to put a jack under it, put it in neutral and hand-spin a rear tire. If both tires spin the same direction...it is my understanding that it is a limited slip diff...if they spin opposite directons...it has an open diff. A person would think the window sticker would indicate LSD if it had one but stranger things happen.

The answer is No. The SRT8 does not have a LSD it has computer controled braking that limits the overspin of the rear tires. If one tire overspins the brakes are applied slightly to that tire. It is not a good thing to power brake these cars as the brakes are continually applying different amounts of pressure to each caliper and may cause the pads to wear unevenly to the point where you can get a serious vibration problem.

Plus, power-braking can cause set a fault code in the PCM. It won't turn on the CEL, but it'll tattle on you if you need to take it to the dealer..
