I would say just use Krazy glue/super glue on the back of it. There's a crack in mine too in the same spot pretty much but on the other side of the hvac and I didn't glue it or anything and it's barlely noticeable.

09-17-2006, 05:51 PM
Ya before i prime the dash bezel i would like to fix the crack dose any 1 know what would work cause crazy glue dosen't lol
my99cavy
09-18-2006, 10:57 AM
You might want to try gorilla glue on it and then sand it down smooth. Or I guess you could even use some bondo :dunno:
JaysZ24
09-21-2006, 11:31 PM
Ya I used some bondo n it worked perfect i primed a few things for my interior gonna be working on it some more tomaro i painted the part that goes by the gauges sliver it looks so sweet agaist the black background LOL The parts car that i took all the interior out off got ran over by my buddies GMC truck n then sent to the junk yard it was so sweet to watch tho

the bondo works good though makes everything sooo smooth
Lances133
09-22-2006, 05:12 PM
hmm, could you use bondo over everything for a fiberglass look or it wouldnt stick well?
Cavalier2000
09-22-2006, 05:36 PM
worth a try is it not, couldn't look worse than pealing right, shit give it a shot, sand the hell out of it and put THIN layers of bondo and sand them smooth every time, it is alot like drywalling, you cna slap 10 yards of that shit on and except it to look right or even dry right, it will take days to dry and start to crack, so use some thin layers
Lances133
09-22-2006, 05:58 PM
nah, im all set with trying that, i hate driving around without a dash, and i have no experience with bondo yet and im def. not starting on my dash lol
Cavalier2000
09-22-2006, 09:41 PM

Cavalier2000
09-22-2006, 10:38 PM
you think i'm kidding lol i am gonna bondo the hell out of it like 10 times and fuck up the paint 10 times and get really good at it, or so i hope. either that or learn how to ruin it
Lances133
09-23-2006, 03:13 PM
lol i hear ya man, i thought about the bondo the dash thing, and wouldn't it crack and stuff?
JaysZ24
09-23-2006, 03:28 PM
Ya it could but as long as u have a really thin amount of it on the part it shouldn't crack i wish i could send u a pic of the back of my dash LOL its covered in bondo where the crack was 1 thing about painting your interior when u start u just want to keep going n painting more things i was just going to go with stock black and then add some red but then i was like my cd player is sliver might as well add some silver too so now i have the plastic peice by the gauges silver the buttons for the AC and rear defrost n soon the vents
Lances133
09-23-2006, 03:44 PM

Awesome, did you sand all the texture off or just a little bit so the paint sticks?
JaysZ24
09-24-2006, 02:05 PM
I sanded all the texture off it would look wierd if u just painted it a different colour n left the texture but on the sliver part i just painted it because u can't even really see the texture on it anyway but that really makes the gauges look sweet

It's not the paint that gets to me, it's the SANDING. I literally sanded my finger print off, pretty cool if I didnt want to leave my print anywhere but it took like 2 weeks to get it back lol
my99cavy
10-16-2006, 03:27 PM
^haha yeah sanding does suck but if you use a sanding block like I used, then its makes it a helluva lot easier on the hands and fingers.
Lances133
10-16-2006, 03:29 PM
I bought one and tried it but I didn't like it. I couldnt feel what I was sanding or how much I was sanding. And I didn't like how it couldn't bend very well on curves or corners.

You need to use the one that is curved on one side and flat on the other like I have :)

I also wet sanded a few times, couple on when sanding and then couple when I primed it.
