i see how that's frustrating, its definitely demeaning, and the dude's an ignorant ass for doing it. i wonder whatever happened to "Excuse me, sir?" well, still, i guess you coulda handled the situation diffrently that wouldn't have earned you this '3 day vacation'. oh well, kill some time, i guess, sry ot hear it.

I don't mind the vacation one bit...with no car payment at the moment and pretty much only having to pay for gas which isn't anymore than $60 a month I can deal with it. AF will keep me busy for those 3 days. The best part about it though is that I'm suspended for 3 scheduled days not just 3 days. So I get a whole week off!

Oh and Danielle I don't mind you laughing one bit. I was laughing the whole way home and quite a few other employees were laughing too.

I get that crap at work as well, I just ignore them or walk right past them. If they confront me about it, i just say "excuse me, I didn't hear you say anthing to me". They get so pissed off about it and storm away, then the next time they actually do say something instead of whistling.

I get the same stuff happening to me. Its not going to get my attention to help you any faster. In fact, whistling and ringing the bell more than ONCE will slow my attentiveness and my pace of movement.. It might take me 5-10 minutes to walk up the aisle to the checkstand to help you. I've had customer complaints, but not enough for a 3 day suspension, just 1 day suspension. I just love it though when customers will put their hands on you to get your attention.

If you drive a fork lift or any kind of machine, its wonderful excuse to ignore. Oh sorry sir I couldn't hear you. When I am at the barn I do that a lot when I can easily shut down the machine(tractor, and yes she is sexy). But most of the people their who do need to get my attention usually wait for me to pass by them and then stand to the side so i can park up and they can talk to me. My favorite is when customers or passerbys from the hiking trails stand in my path and think I am going to stop for them.

I think you handled fairly well considering the level of frustration you were at.
Next time chuck something at him.

This story just about made me spew water all over the keyboard. But I agree that it was pretty asnine for the customer to be whistling at your some kind of work dog on a cattle ranch. People need to get their act together. Idiocy should be painful too

:nono: I'm going to counter that. Think about it, #4 in 90 days, your own words.

Customers can be absolute jerks, but that is YOUR problem, not theirs, you are being paid to do your job to company standards, right? If not, you deserve to be reprimanded for not biting your tongue and trying to use a tactful manner to the jerk customers. I understand that enough can be enough, but be better than them, or quit your job.:smokin:

NExt time a customer whistles at you like youre a dog, just run over on all 4s panting and barking once or twice

They'll think twice the next time they need assistance.
