Hello, I have a 98 Mercury Villager Van and this code popped up on the OBD II, P0744 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Intermittent. What does it mean exactly?
Thank you, The Rev. AC

You might want to post this in the Mercury Villager forum.
It means you are having problems with the torque convertor clutch (TCC) either not locking or locking when it is supposed to.

Thank you for your reply. I will post in the Merc. Villager but I though of posting here since the code P0744 is a generic code for most vehicles '96 and above using the OBD-II.
Thanks again.

I've got the same problem. Should I take it to the dealer or a tranmission shop?
