Is there any motor swap you can do to a 2000 Tiburon 2.0? I'm coming from the Honda forums where you can swap almost anything so i'm not in the know about that stuff...i know the 03 models come with either a V6 or 4cyl...any help?

And also (seeing now it comes out of Mitsu so nvm on where its from) any ideas on torque, horsepower, and compression specs? And, i know with Honda you have OBD1 or OBD2, does that go along with Tiburons? So i'd have to pull it from a 99-? Mitsu?

The 2000 tiburon is not a dirrect swap with the 4g63. It is a dirrect swap with the 95 Elantra, but thats it. Most people dont know about the 92 Sonata G4CP engine that is "Exactly" the same as the 6 bolt N/A 4g63. Their is also the G4CS 90-92 Sonata engine that is the same as the 4g64, except it also has a 6 bolt crankshaft (bolts connecting the flywheel to the crankshaft).
Iinfact, the G4CS crankshaft is one of the only production cranksafts that will work in the 89-4/92 6bolt 4g63's. Anything after April of 92 is considerd a 7bolt 4g63.. That 100mm G4CS crankshaft installed in a 4g63 will net you a 2.3L known as a "Stroker" in the DSM community.
The new Evo motors will not work even in a DSM, they are transmounted 180deg diffrently. You can't use any of the heads becasue the cams rotate the other dirrection then the DSM, and the new evo9's have the new VVT heads...
You would have to find an old DSM pars car that still had its engine, main harness, Tranny, and ECU's. Unless you have some major time on your hands and some major fucking welding and fabricating skills, just rebild your block and head for boost.

So yeah i'm lost....what WILL fit in my tibby? I was thinking about building and boosting but even then i'm only going to be pushing what 200 hp...at 7psi...i know that after building the head i could prolly do what...12 or 15psi depending on the components? But i'm looking for more hp and torque...any ideas? Boosting is NOT out of the question...just seeing if there's an easier route...

Im not aware of an engine that will dirrectly swap into a 1st gen tibby. Build the block for boost & the head for RPM's.

From what I've heard the 1.8l beta engine is reliable upto 380bhp before it needs to come out and be rebuilt.
