He's right. And it's been on streetfire for like uhh...atleast 6 months. :sunglasse

I heard the engine failed on him after a few days, so he had to rebuild it again. :p

There is actually a lot wrong with the build he did.

There was a few I noticed...

Girdle... Why rebuild a 7 bolt?
No cylinder lube, dry piston install... Ouch.
No assembly lube on the cams journals, dry cam install... Ouch again!
No ARP moly on the head studs or main studs... They did it on the rod studs, just hoping that they didnt video that part.
No measurments of clearance... Rod or main bearings.

After watching it a second time I noticed some more things but a friend pointed them out first...

Clicker wrenches
The piston ring filer they use is hard to get a good edge with, experianced.
He tightens the girdle down wrong
Using a wooden mallet to beat the pistons in... Good way to fuck up a ring
No prep for the BS elim kit, hoping they left that out on the video
Head was torqued down in 1 stage

Its a cool video but not something I'd go by to build a motor. There is more wrong that I stated but thats just the big stuff.

I supposidly talked to one of the guys that helped with the build and he said it took 3 days to complete. They did it for fun to see if they could make a video of an engine build in less than 10 mins. Most of it is 4x real speed, some is even 8x. I guess the motor only made it a few miles before the bearings went anyways according to him.

the "clicker" torque wrenches are all I will ever use, they are much more accurate than any beam style. They are also the only torque wrenches you will find at any auto school.

That video wasn't an "exact" rebuild, there wasn't alot of stuff shown on it, they skipped alot of the time-consuming stuff. He was on a forum talking about it earlier and he knows how to correctly re-build a motor. It wasn't supposed to be an instructional video, just something to show people that have NO idea how a general re-build goes.
