How to engage A4WD or 4W-H

TO do this do I need to put the trans in N in before turning the dial to my selection. I've never used it on my vehichle but I will need to in the morning. 1998 EB Expy.

All You Have To Do Is Put It In Neutral,then Select Your 4wd

if your4wd light dont come on the tranfer case is gone or the light is gone in he dash

That is bull S**t. If the light does not come on it means it did not engage. For some reason. The reason usually is the shift motor is inop or stuck. Try agian. You can shift into awd or 4-hi at forward moving speeds below 45 mph. You have to only stop if engaging 4-low. Remember 4 hi and low should only bu used on slippery surfaces. It puts a strain on components on hard asphalt. awd can be used on all surfaces
