oh i hear that they extended warranty because of tranny issues.. is buying ne of these cars still likely an issue with that or do you think majority have been through the service and repaired ...

The tranny issues aren't as common as they seem, and more than likely, the dealership will replace it if you are within the warranty period.
The after market isn't that big right now, but it is growing. The usual main brands for I/E. Comptech for headers and supercharger. V6performance.net is working on a turbo kit for the car at the moment. Head on over to their 6th gen accord forums for all the info you want, and then some.
Just expect to spend more money on parts. Exhausts from 600-1100, Comptech headers 1200, Dr. Evil tranny 4000. etc etc.

i was just curious to stock though... if there were known re-occurring problems with alot of the 98's
thanks for the tips on the After MArket though.. i probably wont get crazy
just basic stuff, then maybe a turbo ..

You can get that turbo...in a few years, unless you want to spend big bucks for custom work.
