OK, well its winter in VA and its always 50 degrees in my house because my GF has to pay the heating bill. Ive dealt with this for the last 2 months now and Im fed up. Her excuse is that some other people cant afford it when we clearly can. She doesnt have a job and doesnt want to "waste" her parents money on stupid crap, aka the heat. I work at sears on base + comission and spend 10x a month more then her, and guess what, I save money. I buy food, pay rent to her parents as part of the morgage, direct tv bill, phone, internet and counting atleast 2 drive throughs a day, I save about 500+ a month, which isnt bad. What should I do, Im not paying for extra bills when its not my responsibility.

1. It's 50 deg in my house because its Ontario winter and about zero outside, and I'm a cheap bastard......................
2. It's your relationship and your choice. If you are tired of paying other people's bills, get out of the relationship. There are many gainfully employed women out there, (many with houses:) ) who want stable, loving relationships.
3. Finally, many relationships, including mine, rely on one person (aka. the husband) to pay bills. If it is truly a loving, mutually supportive relationship, paying the bills will not seem like a burden.

I would get pissed if that was me. No reason why she can't get a job. Especially if you are taking more credits then she is, thats just B.S. Glad i'm not in a relationship like that.

Magic Rat has a point, Especially if you want to stay warm! If your saving $500 a month then a little extra spending wouldn't kill ya if you were cold and you wanted to stay warm.

I know I can, but the its just principles...its like when a cop pulls u over for not using a turn signal.
Theres no reason why she cant work 10-15 hours a week, and theres no reason why I should have to pay another 30$ a month when i already pay around 400 a month. She pays around 150 tops.

Well instead of blowing steem on us...contrusctively...why don't you take this up with her. Obviously if you two are living with eachother it's pretty serious and CAN go to the next level. Now what you need to do is sit her down, don't bash her or anything but talk like civilized adults.
And after all that she still says no without a valid reason, then you seriously need to reconsider the relationship.

So you dont want to use your blinker? If she doesnt want to and you dont want to then dont do it. But dont complain when your cold.

You misunderstood me, I want to use the heat, but I was making a reference to when a cop pulls you over for some bullshit, and gives you a ticket, its just principles.
And I guess I should try harder to talk to her, sitting down and everything.

if i were you i'd just go to wal mart and buy a cheap space heater... they aren't too expensive and if she gripes about it tell her to go to another room.. OR... you can sleep in another room w/ the space heater and make her sleep in the cold bed... option number 2 may leave you taking cold showers... make her buy a space heater?
