sorry to be a pain but could you post a couple pics of the rest of the car. you're saying that his is the hood but it looks like the trunk with a convertable rag top molded in. are you making a convertable? either way it looks cool. keep us updated on your progress

What cosmo said. Could you at least take some pics away from the body so we can get an ideal of what you're talking about.:)

This person must have been drunk while writing the post, yes, the Mx-5 is the Miata. Its only available as a convertible. I would bet my life thats a pic of a trunk. but no way in hell is that the body of a MX-5(miata) too square even for the wrongest AMT proportions. I hope he shows up to clear the confusion.

maybe he posted the wrong pics.

hey guys, I think what he refers to as the "hood" is the covertible top boot. He is using the boot from the mx-5 to replicate the boot of the covertible 3 series. Different terminology for different places I guess, some people refer the to the convertible top as a "hood" here also. Hope that clear things up

This thread is a classic example of how isolated and ethnocentric the US is with regards to the rest of the world.

Altough english is clearly not his second language I got it first time what he was talking about.

He's putting an MX5 (miata for the silly yanks) folded down convertiable top on to a modified BMW 3 series body.
Quite a cool project by the sound of it.

I think the kit might be a fujimi model. I know fujimi made the 1990 m3, not sure if they made the regular e30 though. Nice job gt1800 don't forget to post more progress pictures, we all love pictures:D

The Brits refer to what Americans call the roof as the hood. What we call the hood, they call the bonnet, and what we call the trunk, they call the boot. You can't say that he is drunk or dumb simply because of a difference in terminology.

One fine example- Americans who think NASCAR is the Biggest Racing League in the world......boy I wish I could punch every single one of them who think like this.

I dont know, I am thinking Indy.......maybe Touring? Probally F1, defenitly not nascar.

Schumi IS the highest played athele in the world(right after tiger woods)

I spents days trying to convince my Friends(who loves golf) that Tiger woods did not get paid more than Schumi) I finally won when we found a article on the Newspaper.

You can blame Mazda for naming it the Miata for the North American market rather than the "silly yanks" :flipa:

Rather than taking stabs at each other, just clarify and be done with it.

Sarcasim is just lost on some ppl.

Although your statement does go along way to clarifying mine.

and the largest racing league :bloated: (as has the largest audiance, and involves the most money) is a toss up every year between F1 and the WRC. The WRC dosn't have an American event (they are still working on it) and F1 has only recently returned to having a US event. (and so far its been a bit of a failure)
