Does anyone know how difficult and what the procedure is to replace some burned out bulbs for the instrument panel and also the bulbs for the heater control panel on a 1998 Windstar. I have some bulbs out and was thinking of replacing them if it not a real big job. Any help on this is appreciated.

Start with the 10 mm bolts holding the knee bolster on. Next, go at the phillips screws holding the plastic around the steering column. Keep digging. Biggest PITA is lying upside down while squeezing the speedometer cable. You can pull the cluster in less than an hour.

Thanks for the procedure on the instrument cluster. How about the heater controls bulbs. How does that panel come off so you can get to the bulbs. Do you have to pry off the panels or is their screws or bolts hidden somewhere?

Start by pulling off cup holder/ash tray. Keep digging. Keep track of the screws.
