I have a 90 accord with the 2.2L manual tranny and am looking to buy a 96 accord with the 2.2L auto engine. If I am unable to get the engine working I would like to swap the engines and keep the auto tranny in the car. Does anyone know if they are similar enought to assemble the auto on the older engine? Or do I need to do some other work? Or do you have any suggestions. I plan to get the engine on the 96 running but I have the 90 engine in a totalled car that runs great.

yeah you should be able to put the older engine in your car if your car doesn't have v-teck the fly wheel out of your engine should bolt up to the other motor if not you might have to get one for a car of that year for an auto trany.

NOTE: some sensor myght be diferent you will have to use the ones from your original engine..

the engine will swap right in all u need to do is switch out the plywheel for the flexplate on the auto one and u need to find an ecu from a older accord non vtec auto to put in..u will have an extra wire for the v-tec jus leave it unplugged...if the car u r getting does not have v-tec then dont even worry about the ecu jus swap everything over

F22, F23, H22, H23 trannies all swap with (i beleive) NO modification .. as long as you stay std - std .. or auto - auto.
