Now, I took about 8 hours decalling the beast. All minus the CF hood because the color is sweet and I am not really fond of CF hoods because I think it destracts from the rest of the car. So anyways, I decalled last night...finished near midnight. :) I let it sit overnight and while I was installing the decals I made sure they were not gonna slide anywhere at all and they all conformed to the plastic and all very very nice and flat. Now, today after the car sat all night and some of the day. Am I suppost to run water over the model to get rid of all of the residue? WOULD THIS HELP?
I am focused on using Testors custom laquer system ultra gloss clearcoat. Thanks for all your help in advance!

I wouldn't run water over the model, that's for sure.
If anything, allow the decals plenty of time (a couple of days) to dry, and then gently wipe off any marks with a damp cloth.

This is a tricky question. I also have this kind of problem. I usually wait few days then I use compound on the paint to remove the residue. It's very long task, but it's the only idea I have found. Water wouldn't remove the decals, but it will not remove all the residue either.

Huh, worked like a charm for me:)...ran water and soap all over the car. I did have an issue when I put air on it to get water and dust off before clearing, the big WORK decal flew off, broke in half!!! I salvaged it though, by some stroke of God! And it cleared beautifully! 2 dust coats, and i mean dust. And next 3 wet coats, looks beautiful.

but i agree with Vric here. ive had so many problems with small "water-marks" and splotches and the only way ive found to remove them CONSISTANTLY is to use compound. ive screwed up alot of decals trying to remove these spots in other ways. i cant figure out if its Micro-set or Micro-sol that causes it but its annoying. especially with CF hoods, ive ruined two, i would clear them and there would be spots all over.

I didnt use Micro-Sol or whatever. That stuff sucks ass. I used Walthers Salvaset w/ water mixed in so its not so strong and it doesnt wrinkle the decal when applied. I guess I got lucky, or plain just gots skillz yo!
