Hey Everyone.

Well, vacations, some free time i decided to draw this GTO.

I used Black Faber-Castel Polychromos and regular drawing paper.

Looks awesome. My only complaint, is the grainy feel of some of the shading. Personally I don't think it works very well with this car to begin with, but your doesn't look half bad. Good work, maybe it's the paper?

Well, I think it's awesome. I like the shading and great detail on the little things. The texture is different, but that's what is so cool about art.... it's all subjective... keep it up. Robo

That's great. How did you draw the letters so neatly?

Sweet! I think the grainyness is from the paper.

Awesome shading.

Bravo.

Thanks!!

Sure, the texture is very grainy...
Some times i hate it other times i think is part of the drawing. My professor explained many times that the texture will always be there, it is part of the drawing. If you want something smoother you must change the paper or use other media, like airbrush or painting.

MTBN, the numbers in plates were easy to draw, just a very thin pointed pencil. The GTO i drawed the borders and started shading from the lines...using the same thin pencil.

Thanks Guys!
Maybe monday i'll start another drawing...But first i need to buy a new pencil...mine is like 2 inches long hehehe

And i'll look the papers that are avaible at the store...maybe i find something smoother.

Bye!
Magliano

Congrats, that's a very good render!
Like you I work with Polychromos, which seem to be not as soft as Prismacolors. To avoid the texture, you can either get another paper or smudge the color into the score with Q-Tips or equiv. You must be careful wit this method, otherwise you'll have a big sauerei and you'll ruin the drawing (which already happened to me). But the colors look smooth then.

I'd be also interested in how you did the GTO letters. It's very hard to do them exactly...

Great rendering! I actually think the graininess looks good and gives it a really unique style. If you still want smooth, try picking up some canson or strathmore bristol smooth paper and using chamois to blend.
