Well do you perfer Jap cars or German. I'm on my 3rd BMW. All E36 models (92-99). My first was a 1994 4 dr 318I with 80,000 when I baught it. Owned it for 2 years until a drunk driver smashed it up at 107,000 miles. I had zero problems with the car. Next I baught a 1992 2dr 318IS. I still own this car. The only thing I have replaced is the alternator and battery. The car was baught at 108,000 and now has 164,000. I've owned it for over 2 years now. I just ran the codes and no problem found. My recent purchase was a 1995 M3 with 69,000 miles. Flawless! Runs great! Looks great! Is a BMW...not a Nissan.

Now, my dad owns a 350Z. He loves it, so he says. He has never driven a BMW so I guess he wouldn't have an opinion. The G35 and 350Z are the same car so take your pick. The lines are more defined on the 350Z. You want a real sports car with alot more to offer than what the manufacturer will tell you, buy the BMW. I would get the M3 model though. I love my 4 banger Bimmers but....the I6 outperforms my LT1 Camero I had years back and I thought that was pretty fast. In terms of handling, thats what BMW are know for....performance and handling. Yeah the G35 and 350Z may be fast but whats the track record of maintanence, cost, reliablility? I would not be on my 3rd BMW for a reason. I feel safe and I feel like I have ultimate control behind the wheel. But I will not lie, I do like the looks of the G35 over the 350Z. Do they look better than mine? Considering my M3 is 11 years old, the Jap cars should be more updated in terms of styling and performance. But if you have a doubt, your at the right place. Go test drive all 3 cars and make an educated opinion on which one you'd like to buy. All 3 are going to be great cars but theres only one Ultimate Driving Machine....BMW

what do you want out of a car? how much are you willing to spend? and how old of a car are you willing to buy?

i see your profile says you're into street racing... get the 350z, so when you wreck it, it'll have costed you less money then an M3... or get an older M3...

I've owned a 325i convertible, an 850i and now I'm the proud owner of a 1995 m3. White, 5-speed, 2-door. It's an amazing car, there is truly no comparison to the 850 I just sold. This m3 out-handles, and out-performs most other compact sports cars. It truly is the "Ultimate Driving Machine." Even if you're not in the market for a BMW you might as well go test drive one, at least for fun. But trust me, that BMW will sell itself.

strange decision you have. i had the exact same decision when i got out of job school in the army. i knew it was time to spend all of my money. i test drove the Z and G35. they drove the same, so of course i went Z because it was cheaper. i was supposed to sign papers at 5 in the after noon. until around 2 pm on my lunch break, i saw an M3 in a parking lot for sale. i went to check it out. i always did like the idea of the m3 and bimmers in particular, especially after seeing the teckademics videos when i was younger. owner talked to me. so i naturally went on the test drive. not much to say after that. i just about creamed my pants leaving 1st gear. im so glad i saw it. and the price was completly unexpecting, in a good way. i love her since the day i bought her.
