'93 DX Hatch....HP?

Hey.....I'm thinking of getting a 1993 Honda Civic DX ...Hatchback.......anyone want to tell me the specs on this car....different versions that were available....etc....i know Civics have a massive amount of aftermarket parts....part of the reason i want to add one to my collection of umm..well 1 car so far..

oh, and it's the next best thing to an Si that has 125hp. Unlike my CX you get a rear wiper, side mouldings, optional auto tranny, cargo cover, and the list goes on.

thanks..........that the only engine available? cause i know on my bonneville the base engine was 170HP...and mines 195 or 205...not to sure....haven't looked into the engine yet..
and if that's you in the car.....tell me more!

The DX does not have the base engine. The CX is under the DX. They are basically the same engine.... it's just that the CX has 8 valves and the DX has 16. Another weak car in the group is the VX which has Vtec-E and does nothing to add power... it's for fuel economy. The Si comes with the most options and has front and rear disc brakes. It has the strongest engine out of the 5th gen hatchback line up.

Just because the DX doesn't have much power, don't let that stop you. There a tons of professional shops out there now that are dedicated to swapping motors and the hatchback is one of the easiest. There are a number of engines (like those from 6th gen Civics, Integras, and Preludes) that will bolt right into the car. Just because the engine isn't very strong doesn't mean it has to be like that forever.

Just think about that... but make sure you know what you want before you buy it.
