For me to get my first car. Some i have been considering are:

4.0/4.6 Range Rover
99/00 Honda Civic Si
94-97 Mazda Miata
97+ Lexus GS300
03+ Hyundai Tiburon
VW Corrado G60

so what do you guys think about these? Any suggestions?

I gotta pay for everything, but my mom will loan me money, i just gotta pay her back monthly.

Umm...wide range of cars. I'll give my 2 cents on each...but remember we're just internet junkies who like to talk about cars. Ultimately the choice for a new car should be yours and yours alone.

Range Rover...unless you like spending alot of gas and are looking for that status symbol/pimp type ride that an SUV of that caliber will bring.

Civic Si...nice car, good platform to work off of if you want to modify it and make it faster. Problem is everyone has one, lots of them get parts or the whole car stolen, and you gotta defeat the riceboy image in order to get respect. If you modify it tastefully and come up w/some original ideas for it...you could definitely make it a serious car.

Miata...well unless you intend on autocrossing every weekend...I wouldnt buy this as a first car. Sure it's RWD, light, and pretty nimble...but it's 2 seats which usually isnt very practical and there's no cargo room. Good car, but not good car to be your only car.

GS300...I would say no b/c you could get a used IS300 which would do the same and have 4 doors and be quicker than the GS. The GS isnt really a good first car b/c it doesnt really say much. It's made for middle age people I would say...unless you were going to drop the Supra TT motor into it...then I'd say that'd be original.

Tiburon...I think they didnt really get intersting til the got to the current rendition w/the V6 and 200hp...so no.

Corrado...I love the Corrado but I dont know much about how reliable or how they perform...I just know they look awesome. There's two versions if I am correct...the V6 and a supercharged one. Not sure which one to get...someone might chime in.

Depends on your needs. If you don't carry around a lot of stuff or people very often, and you're interested in performance, go with the Miata. It's cheap, fun to drive, and has a tremendous aftermarket (it is, after all, the best-selling sports car of all time). If you need a little more room in your vehicle, and you're willing to give up the fun of rear-wheel-drive, the Honda Civic and Acura Integra are solid choices. They also have large communities following them, and plenty of aftermarket parts. Or maybe you aren't looking for performance? You need to be more specific about what you're looking for out of your vehicle.

Im going to go one of two routes. Im either gonna go with a luxury car (rover, GS) and keep it pretty stock.

Or i might go sport compact (si, miata, tibby) do a bunch of suspension mods (coilovers, swaybars, strutbars, traction bars on the FF cars) and basic power mods (intake/exhaust, cams?) I dont really drive 3+ people around, but if i had to i could borrow my moms explorer, so im not worried about space. Im a bit tall (6'2", 180 lbs) and after driving more than 30 minutes in a miata, my legs start to cramp a little bit.

Now im starting to sell myself on the tibby or the Si.

The VR6 Corrado is a cool car. I really like that car. I don't think it would disappoint and its certainly unique compared to the others. My friend eventually got rid of his after constand electrical problems occured, which led to a blown motor in the end.

Between the Civic and the Tiburon I would take the Tiburon. The civic is a nice car but you would have to defeat the ricer-boy image. The Tiburon doesn't have as much interior quility, not that either have much but it does have a V6, :grinyes:. When i purchase my first car I won't be looking at either of these cars though, the Civic is to common in my opinion and the Tiburon looks like a big bug. You might look into an older RSX or SRT-4. Both good cars that can be had on your budget and not everyones looking at 'em. (Not very many people are looking at the Tiburon either though, owell).

None:

Why do I say that you will be getting into a boat load of debt and well none are a good first car. Get a beater save up some cash either way i'll give my thoughts on each.

Rovers: gas prices alone will rape you raw they are a ton of money quite comfy truck weather no worries in rain or snow its freaking HUGE.

Civic: enough said... ok jokes aside *I'm allowed to joke I own a civic* The b16 in them is wussy little motor *till 5K* I was horridly let down with them at 17 and my 91 hatch weighs 700lbs less. Theft and insure are scary on the EM1s. Its not a bad car just for its price you can do alot better.

Mitia: Great car quite small you stated your not comfy in them so I'd avoid it on that reason alone

Lexus: Novicane everything no driver feed back at all anywhere. Its comfy but to drive its blander then white toast. It would be fair priced and easy to maintain. Its not fun to drive but its a great car I would put this as my pick on your list.

Tibby: they suck at life hands down. Horrid V6 that drinks more gas then current v8s my Z28 *Ls1* gets on avg 5mpg better then my friends tibby I also am way out of his league powerwise. breaks down quite often cheap leather blah I hate these cars for good reason.

VW: Another nice pick I would list this 2nd out of the cars listed because of the fact its sporty starting on a sporty car isn't good its just too easy to mess up even if you don't drive like a nut maybe in a year it would be great :) if you've already been driving just getting your own I'd change the VeeDub to first place.
