I have a after market cd player I want to install in the van and I have to cut a ground wire to make it work. I was wondering if anyone knows where it is and what it looks like.
I have got this information from people who instal aftermarket decks but they didn't tell me where it is.
Can anyone help me?

When I installed mine, I looked at the wiring diagram on AlldataDIY and found the wires that I needed in the wiring harness for the radio. There are several configurations, depending on which radio came from the factory.
I do not know how much the wiring changed from year to year, so you will want to match up your year van with the available information.
I wired my CD changer into the wire harness for the radio....I removed the radio, and made the connections near the connector for the radio.

When I installed an aftermarket CD player in my 99 I purchased the connector from Wal-mart. In the connector package all of the wires are mapped by colour. Any wire you need (including ground) will be available in the harness.
If you need to you can use an ohmeter to find ground. There will be 0 ohms between the ground wire and chasiss of the vehicle.

If you have a CD changer.....you might locate it like I did mine. I have the CD changer under the driver seat. The wires go under the carpet to the center console.....and up to the radio harness. The remote unit wire comes out at the base of the console.

What I have been told is that the ground wire that I need to cut runs is somewhere along the side of the van towards the back, under the carpet attached to the frame. Has anyone been told this and what did you do?
I connected the cd player in the van and got nothing but the display to say "OFF".

Where are you trying to locate the unit?
I installed a subwoffer all the way in the back....but I ran ALL the wires up to the front.
I seem to remember my CD player (it has been several years) wanted
a always HOT line,
a HOT only when the ignition is ON line
And a ground. Connecting them all into the wire harness for the radio made sure that I was connected to where I should be.
Ground should not be a problem...but I would run it up and connect it near the radio to avoid any noise being picked up. When looking for a wire to tap into....make extra sure that you do not try to tap into any of the vaccum lines that are up there for the heater controls...as they are small and can be mistaken for an electrical wire.
