I noticed my volt meter on the low side today. I stoped to put in gas and it did not start. All I got was clicking noice coming from the engine. Had someone give me a jump ran it for about 5min. then shut my car off and tried to restart it but, it was struggling to go on for a few seconds then the clicking noice started again as I was trying to start it.
I just bought a new batt. about 2mos ago and had my started replaced at the same time.
Whats up with my car??????Help?????

Your alternator is most likely bad, check its output. You could have also gotten a dud battery, have it load tested.

Alternator? What is that? How much does on cost to replace. Whats a good price for a mechanic to charge to fix it IF I buy the part???? How many days does it take to fix it or is it pretty quick to fix???

I believe the price of an alternator varys, and depends on is you have a V6, or V8 and how many amps you car requires. I don't think you should be looking at much more the $150 if you buy an aftermarket and or refurbished alternator from an auto parts store. If you buy a brand new OEM alternator directly from Ford, the price may be alot higher than that.
No one should charge you anymore than $60 to install it.

you may need to just change the voltage regulator which is mounted to the case of the alternator but even if its is the alternator the book time is only1.0 hrs and dont over look the starter solenoid on the fender well near the battery u can use a insulated handled screw driver and touch the small s terminal to the larger pos. terminal and if starts the solenoid is ur trouble
