1996 MONTE CARLO 3.1 L Hesitation In Acceleration

The check engine light came on and the code in the reader said malfunction bank 1 sensor 2. I changed my O2 sensor, the one after the CAT. I used OEM parts. I had the computer reset the codes. For the first day the car was fine. I just filled my tank the other day. Now my car is very suggish on acceleration with dead spots. The car does finally accelerate if I push the pedal all the way down. I did fill up with a differnet type of gas this time I used Citago. Could it be a bad tank of gas? Can anyone help please?

This sensor is sending a code generated by another problem, you need a full scan to look at other issues that can cause this, and the hesitation, possible low fuel pressure, any thing that could lean the engine down, what was the exact code, this would help.

I filled the tank with 93 octane and put in a bottle of dry gas from napa and it cleared up the problem almost instantly. I hope it stays running good.

Sounds like bad gas... I've had to work on several cars since this "watered down" hurricane Katrina gas, lol!

I had hesitation problems going up hills and it turned out to be bad spark plug wires. They were replaced, and the problem weny away. My O2 sensor was also bad during this time. I had it replaced sometime afterwards. I was told not to worry about the O2 sensor until the car started running rough or the check engine light went from being on all the time to flashing.
