Obscure problem or do Duralast parts suck?

Sorry for my extended absence, guys. Classes have been kicking me in the balls lately.

Here's where it all began... My 01 2.2 S10 w/ 90K began having a hard time being started... I had to get jumped just about every 3 days if I wanted to drive anywhere. As you might know, this sucked. I brought my truck to work (SEARS) and went to be Al Bundy in the shoe dept. In the meantime, I had the guys over in the Automotive Dept. run that DieHard Service package on it... they said that the alternator had low output. (My guess was that if it wasn't the battery, it was the alternator.) So, I went to Auto Zone, bought a remanufactured Duralast alternator and I threw it in last night. Everything went swimmingly except that when we got to Auto Zone, for sh!ts and giggles I had them test the alternator. It passed... I haven't tried driving the truck yet today so I don't know if the problem is recurring yet. If it does, I'll update the thread.

Here's the problem: While driving it back from my buddy's garage last night the MIL came on. I pulled the code and got this: P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Voltage...

What the hell does that mean? Is the output on my alternator too high? Help... Please Help... Blazer, I know you know what's up ;)...

if the service light just came on, check to insure the sensor (one in the air inlet tube/pipe was reconnected after alternator R&R.
if not, that is probably only issue...
if it is connected, with 90K could be PCV valve or MAP/MAF; up to the hard core items: cat getting clogged, fuel pump and/or regulator going out...
don't think your alternator would be the culprit. check your connector first.

hope this helps,

i forgot to plug the sensor back into the big air duct next to the filter... oops.

more bad news, though... the truck wouldnt start today. spent an hour trying to jump it to no avail. what to do?

1 - I'm going to bring the battery in to be tested tomorrow.

2 - I'm going to check the fuel pump if the battery is okay... had it replaced with a used one about 2 months ago after a complete failure.

fuel pump = fine
plugs & wires = fine
air cleaner = fine.
cleaned egr.

my hypothesis is I have a quarter tank of bad gas, or maybe im not getting enough fuel pressure. i had a friend talk about timing, but that doesnt make much sense to me...

I had this hard start problem happen to me after I forgot to connect the IAT sensor too. Depress accelerator all the way to the floor and crank engine. As soon as it starts let off pedal. It should solve your mystery.

i've had a few duralast parts put on my sonoma. the only problem i have had is with GMC's crappy AC Delco Batterys. I fired 3 of them in 4 years ......... Does the same with my 2001 Blazer 4x4
