is it hard to change a 5 speed transmission

my trans is going.i have a 1997 honda civic dx. 5 speed.and i can get it for about $300 and i was wondering is it hard to change.about how long.its seems.easy.like 20 bolts. take off install new.but looks are deciving.lol.so can any one school me on what im in for.

swapping trannies is not that difficult. Took me and a buddy of my dad's to swap the tranny out of my 90 civic in like 6 hours or so.

6 isn't bad...u can do it faster though...if u dotn run into problems....

so is it basicly just take the screws out and pull the trans out.and so on.dont see to bad..

basically is....but u gotta disconnect steering linkages, axels, wiring for the starter, reverse sens. hydraulic lines, shift linkage, the mounts, support the engine, and have a tranny jack...or some one to help u drop the trans out of the vehicle
