99 f-350 80 000 kms on it. truck can be sitting turned off, lights will turn on all by themselves, or blower motor will turn on. abs light is on at all times now when truck is running. truck is running fine. any ideas as to what is causing this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i see no one has answered you, so i will give it a shot. '99 is a little new for me to trouble shoot, but first thing would be to get your codes pulled. abs probably has it's own codes. i think you should have a VSS sensor in your rear axle housing and speed sensors at the wheels that help abs do it's job. if a wire got pulled loose from one of these it could cause some wierd happenings.

The two are probably related. However, the abs light also is an indication of a bad fuse on the lights or that one of the brake lights is out. This includes the light above the back window that goes on when braking as well.

I take it you might be having drained battery problems. This is certainly not a switch problem so I suspect a computer error. Would a reset and I don't know how to do that help out.

A few questions first. Did you buy this truck new? If not was a carfax report done on it? (Not sure if Carfax covers your area of the world) It almost sounds as if it were submerged or partially submerged in water.
