2002 Tracker with loose parking brake handle

Hi
As stated in the subject, the parking brake lever is loose. The brake engages, disengages fine but there is an inch of play when the handle is down and sometimes the brake light stays on or flickers. I'm looking for info on how to adjust the parking brake and tighten up the handle. Any help would be appreciated.
