Im bought a friends system, 2 10in. Sony Xplods w/ 1200w amp D amp, ported box, and all the wires. We moved the system into the party bus, my dodge caravan, and it works all well and good. My question is where should i drill for the wire going to the battery? We looked it over and also thought about sliding the wire through between the chasis and the front fender. any suggestions, comments, answers all would be helpful.

Also the deck i have is maybe about 7yrs old and doesnt have any other equalizer functions other than bass and treble volumes. would the "digital multimeter" help in equalizing the volumes, to get a more desired sound?

Just drill the hole for the power wire throught the firewall. But before you drill check to see where you will have the least amount of problems by running a wire there. I think with the deck you're asking if an equalizer will help you out? Because a "digitial multimeter" is just a tool for measuring varing amounts of electricity. Yeah an equalizer will help you balance the sound more evanly. Peace-

satrt on the side your battery's on. this will save you wire and time. if you cant find a gromet in the firewall under the dash/by the floormat/heater area then youll have to drill through the firewall as was mentioned before. find a place on the inside of the firewall where you can fit a drill, and then make sure theres nothing behind it. DOUBLE and TRIPLE check.. ive drilled through a brake booster because i was rushing and the markings on the inside of the firewall werent the same as the outside.

a DMM wont help.. although you should use one to set your amp gains.

get a new HU.. otherwise youll probably end up turning the bass and volume up to ger more out of the subs and your speakers will get the same signal and most likely distort and blow after a while. hey a head unit with a high pass filter and seperate sub adjustments. (hpf might not be needed if you have amped speakers and xover controls on that amp)

there are cross overs on the amp and my friend tuned it for me. but anyone have any suggestions as to the "best" place to drill for a 96 Dodge Caravan. also, any suggestions as to where to run the wires, would i just pull up the carpet and run it under there?

run the power wire down the side the battery is on, where the floor curves up to meet the door opening
