I am thinking about getting a remote start system installed. I'm a bit leary though considering the electronics in trucks these days. Any advice out there on a high quality product thats been around for as while and what to stay away form.

There are quite a few guys on here with remote start systems. You will hear about DEI products like Vipers (my buddy has) and such. AudioVox products that include prestige, code alarm (which I have my parents have prestige on both their cars). I cant speak for everybody but I have not had one problem in the year and a half I have had mine. Tell you what, once you get one you wont know how you lived without it.

One thing I forgot, Code Alarm has a lifetime warranty on all of the components all the way down to the remote.

I have a Arctic start 2 way pager alarm/starter combo in my Silverado made by compustar, and i have not had any problems with it in over 2 years. Well i lied , about 3 weeks ago the shock sensor took a crap but the guy that installed it replaced it for free even though there is only 1 year warranty on it, lifetime on the brain though. Unsure on the one remote though , the main one has a display on it but the spare one does not.

I bought my truck used and it has a python 450ESP remote start system. I didn't know how it worked, but found the owners guide online. I like it, and it seems to work fine. It looks as though it was professionally installed.
