Greetings Subaru owners...Looking to buy a 2000/2001/2002 Forester for the following reasons:
1. AWD...good traction/handling in bad weather
2. Decent gas mileage 22-28 mpg
3. Price is about what our budget can handle
Not real crazy about the looks, but we've read nothing but good reviews. Why not go direct to the source! Waddya think Forester owners? Appreciate any guidance/suggestions?

We had a 2001, great car, excellent in the snow, economical to run and super reliable.

I have a 2001 Subaru Forester bought new, we've had many problems for a new car. Both back wheel bearings went, the front drive shaft and now the Transmisson. The car only had 62.5K miles, about 2.5K out of Warranty and they want us to pay for most of the repairs, an estimated $3,800 for a rebuilt transmission and transfer case unit. Bottom line is get an extended warranty or buy a Honda.:banghead:
