Advance Trac uses a number of sensors to do it's job. There is an accelerometer or yaw-rate sensor somewhere and also a steering input sensor. In addition to those, it also uses the ABS sensors in each hub. My rough guess would be one of the non ABS sensors, since you didn't get an ABS light.
Fo course, it could also be a lose connection or something. Try pulling the codes and see what it tells you.

I wouldn't worry about it if it only came on momentarily and did not stay on. If you were making a turn it still may have been activated normally and you would not be aware of it.

Many things could make that light come on but if it was just while you were going around a curve, check your brake fluid it could be low. Also there is a sensor under the brake booster that goes out a lot but I would have to know the code to be sure.

Thanks. How do I go about getting codes? Do I have to take it in or is there another way? I've heard Auto Zone can tell you the code. I'm not sure. Thanks

Hey, I am a Lincoln Technician and I have seen a lot of the ADVANCE TRAC lights staying on, its a common problem(It happened on my LS). 99% of the time you just need to have the computer reflashed. This must be done by the dealer and it is usually about an hours worth of labor, so around 90 bucks depending on the dealer. This will fix all concerns
