ok stupid ? but I am low on transmission fluid and I know there must be a leak or issue somewhere but until I can get it checked out, I need to add some. My question is, where do you add it - I can't seem to find the place to do so in a 99 le v6. Also, how do I know HOW much to add... any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks

You have to add Transmission Oil to the hole that the stick located for checking oil level. Add a little not too much, and start the engine, D-R-N shift several times and check the level use that stick and add some more, untill it is between two mark.

for the love of christmas my mom has a 99 camry and here is what you do. there is a dip stick to the right of the oil dip stick. ahhhhh. ok now you take it out , it has an orange top i believe take that stick out. after you take that stick out, add tranny fluid in there not too much though, keep putting the stick in and out untill its at full. the stick will have marks on it to guide you, just like the oil dip stick. after wards just run your gears from p down to L up and down about ten times so it distrubutes around all the teeth. your finished. P.S. this is y i dont like automatics.

I think what he meant was - add tran fluid to the dipstick where you check the tran fluid lvl, which is what I was told at the auto parts store

Don't listen to me. I was just giving this thread a hard time. The procedure is sort of what everyone was saying, but I'm not positive what they were saying...

theres probably another way to do it, but we had a meredes staion wagon with a severe leak from tranny and that was the way we always put the fluid in it lol, pretty pathetic now that i think of it
