with all the complaints about oil burning, i was wondering if anybody used slick 50. i forgot all about this product until i was just recently in a store & see some there. i remember those tv advertisments showing a car that used it & they ran the engine for a while with no oil in it. i read something on the bottle saying something about a 50,000 mile "warranty" on the engine if they used it. personally i think it's snake oil, but has anybody used it & had any success with it? just curious.....

An old worn-out engine, with lots of clearance will run a long time without oil in the crankcase, there's lots of room in the bearing to hold oil. A better test would be a new engine.
I've read only 1 report of a slick 50 engine being dismantled, the report said the bearings looked good, but the walls where scored more than expected.
The can says to shake well before adding to the engine. What prevents it from settleing out in the crankcase?
