G-Friends dad just took 05 gto to stip!, AT Best ET 14.49 @ 97.26mph? that doesn't seem like 400 hp to me. he shifted the AT himself w/ traction control off. Is the cpu holding power back? has anyone heard about or know when cpu lets lose all the power.

Don't know about the shift points, either. Most of the GTO guys I talked to had the manual trans. Most of the automatic cars were just leaving it in "drive" (NOT overdrive) and allowing it to shift itself. Times ranged from 13.40s to 14.0s (automatic cars). The manual cars were about .2-.5 seconds quicker, across the board (for stockers).

There's too much we don't know...
Maybe he spun the tires through the first gear; what were track considtions like?; where was the track??; how many runs did he do?
Its easy to run a flat 13 and then lay down a low 14 nex time. What was the average of all his runs?
It definitely does sound slow, but maybe the dude couldn't drive (even though its an auto). I'm willing to bet its a matter of bad traction rather than a lack of power.

Yes, the ECU holds back torque in the autos to 'protect' the auto from damage (pesky factory warranties) The manual has the same feature but does not kick in as hard.
Here in Oz, we use LS Edit to modify the factory computer and see factory spec cars into the hi 12's!
The 1997 to 2006 Holden Commodore Sedan, from which the Holden Monaro Coupe(your Pontiac GTO) is based sees a LOT of mods done here.
We have one customer who just ordered a 7.2 litre Keith Black V8 motor for his Monaro yet running the factory ECU!!
94pony, the mph sounds about right but the ET is way too slow... Wheelspin or a sh!t reaction time would account for the slow time

Let the transmission shift for you. He slowed it down shifting it himself, I am 100% on that.
Those LS2 GTO's should run low-mid 13's with trap speeds around 105.
