ported box?

hi i have 2 12 inch comp vrs the 2005 models in a sealed box with the kx600.1 -- 2.5 cubic feet and it kinda sucks.. i wanted to know what dimensions for a ported box i should use.. and if it would sound better/louder

Ported might sound a little boomy. If possible, try a bandpass. But if ported is the way to be, you might get some good results if you tweak with the crossover on the amp a bit. You can't just build a ported box either. They have to be just right to sound good. It's usually the cheap ones that sound like shit. I converted my Roadmaster bass tube from a ported to a sealed and it sounds a hell of a lot better and I got it under my desk. Hope you do find something that'll work for ya. Good luck.

Well, it's a sealed and ported hybrid, actually. The woofer, or woofers, get some air cushion on one side so they can get some pretty accurate bass.

the only sound comes from the port, the other side of the speaker is sealed off .... that does NOT make it a half sealed box in terms of order. It is even more of a ported box than the normal one, and the "order" is even higher. You might wanna look this stuff up on the net, there's lots of good info out there.
