i own a 1984 240Gl (australian complied)...
when looking at the jetronic injection from the front passenger side of the car, just above the black bulb thing (i know next to nothing about this type of injection).
i have taken a foto of the rogue hole here.

Also, how do yo tune the air mixture with the tapering pin thing? every time i try to, after a little bit it starts hissing air, does this mean ive gone too far?
all in all the car is running like a pig, lol. idles at around 500rpm, the engine wobbles from side to side (engine mounts are good)...
any enlightenment on this would be well appreciated
Ben.

I'm not very familiar with Volvos, I just bought myself a Repair manual from Pep Boys and it's got everything you need to know how to maintain, troubleshoot, and fix problems. It even goes over how to properly adjust what the car idles at, my volvo is slightly out of alignment as well. The engine wobbles side to side as well just like yours, I've noticed if I give it a little gas it goes away almost instantly and barely even shakes.
This summer I'm probably going to rebuild, port and polish, and clean the engine up. The book goes step by step on how to tear apart the engine and how to clean/and make sure everything is running fine. It even goes over how to hone the cylinders, which I'm eager to try.
It does not have how to port and polish the engine, but that's not too difficult to do. I'm hoping to gain some horses doing that.
Here's a link to the book I got, in my honest opinion it's worth every penny.
