I'm asking this question b/c I was at a resturant and I heard this horrible (almost electrical) buzzing, not to be confused with a constant noise of a blow off, but I asked the guy in the Saturn (ahhh) "what do you have in that thing" and he replied a T66 i was like doesn't that get annoying. Now for my question can you put them in Saturns, do they make that ear-piercing noise and if so how do they perform in the long run? Thanks, Emilie

saturn motors dont have enough output to spool up a T66 sized turbo efficiently. the buzzing noise was probably the turbine rattling against the thrust bearing.

unless he has a spooling kit, there's no use for a T66 turbine in his ride. he probably has a motor problem and just lied to you.

I'll give ya one guess where he got that trim # from...

Thanks, I figured he was lying, but I guess I just needed it confirmed. I saw an article in a car mag. about a front-wheel drive drag car w/ a T66 in it. I figured it was kinda like having a Mac Turbo in that Saturn. Just wanted to know. Once again Thanks, Emilie:flash:

I dont know, but he should have known that those turbochargers are best suited for a Civic Type R engine. :D

yes and when coupled with a motec systems exhaust power output is dramatic at the least.

to be more specific, a Spoon crate motor.

Sorry to break the joke here, but I never took the time to find out, what IS a spoon engine? What makes it special? All I know (or at least have heard) so far is that a Spoon engine plus Turbocharger equals BOOM.:( I never got an explanation as to why this would happen. Could somebody let me in on the secret?

Spoon is a Co. that rebuilds Honda engines as a whole unit, tranny included. it has high compression pistons, like 11.0:1 i think, maybe higher. the reason ppl say that a turbo will make it go boom is that it's too much power when forcing more air & fuel into a high output motor. compression ratio is better at 8.0:1 to 9.3:1 when turbo/supercharging.

I can't imagine spoon building an h22 motor. but i might be a moron. spoon is more of a lightweight race car co. preludes don't quite fit that description. then again neither do civics. yeah I am a moron. by the way, a b16 spoon engine can rev to an ungodly 13k

Can anyone tell me a webiste that offers SPOON or JUN crate engine deals? I'm thinking of doing a low compression swap (if available) and putting a nice turbo on it. Thanks.

umm...you're not getting the point dude. spoon=N/A high compression motors. you're not gonna get a spoon motor w/low compression for FI. just build your own motor, you'll be happier in the end.
