This for all around acceleration, handaling, comfort, and price differences. I would have to go with the Corvette. It's the most affordable of the three and has better acceleration the the Cobra R but handles better thand the Viper.

Corvette; aren't the new one's supposed to be packed with even more horsepower, or is that just the Z06? Either way, Corvette Coupe for me.

It's the Z06. Same hp and trq as the Cobra R. 385hp and 385ft.lbs.

Corvette ZO6. For the price of a Dodge Viper GTS you could get a Lingenfelter 427 Vette or TT Vette.

The new Z06 with 405hp should be able to get on top of these I think.

I'd go with the Z06, and both the Z06 and the regular vettes have more hp than last year, aint it great!

i don't think we're talking about the racecar versions of these cars. i'm sure that the race prepped viper gets about 700 too. my choice goes to the viper without a doubt

New Z06. If the factory is to be believed, it is as quick to 60 as teh Viper, handles better, and a blower is just 5 grand away.

Z06.....405 horsepower, 400 ft-lbs torque, and even lighter than last year:D but a GTS (especially the ACR) would be badass. I really like the 5 point harnesses.

yeah, 5-point harnesses rock and all, but have you ever tried to drive in a car with one of them? Going on an errand run in my TT 5-point mustang was an exercise in annoyingness.

For the street, in the USA, the Chevrolet Corvette is my first choice. It's sophisticated, affordable and most of all the greatest Corvette ever.

The Corvette has a following that's so deep and strong. The present Corvette and in particular the ZO-6 model is the best sports car in the world. Maybe some other is better at some little detail. But for $50 g's it's a world beater.

The Viper's are hard to drive and keep on the road. Not a safe car at all. Nobody has that Ford.

i 100% agree with you...
the zo6 is a world beater in every aspect... especially price...
the viper is scary quick... and they have a tendency to wrap themselves around stationary obj's when driven improperly

the stang though, if no one has one, wouldnt it be cool to have just for that fact? i would still take a zo6. but i am just askin... why not take it?

I think a 5 point harness would be good in a performance car. I think for errands, though, it would be a bit like a baby carseat.

C5 is the best overall car of the 3.

I wouldn't want to use the ACR as a grocery getter. I definately wouldn't mind it though:)

hell the 2002 Z06 rocks the Viper and Cobra R in every aspect.

I think the people that got trick into buying Z06 (385) deserve some money back. How can Chevy put out another Z06 (405) within a year with more goodies. The previous Z06 (385) owners lost a lot of money fast.

i have to disagree.
20 hp is not as amazing as we all think... not like it isnt an amazing car, but i wouldnt consider the existing owners to have been gypped. know what i mean? 20hp is only maybe a tenth... i think the new one has better susp, which is what makes it for me...

when compairing these cars a tenth is alot:cool:

Z06 405hp has better flowing engine. FE-4 suspension has been beef up with larger anti-roll bar, stiffer spring and camber changes. Car's ride also has been improve upon. Digital head-up display is now standard. I forgot if night vision is added as a option or not.

Basically a more powerful, lighter and stiffen model compare with 2001 Z06. GM should have call 2002 model ZR-1 instead of Z06.

A tenth is alot. You may not be able to tell, but when the guy is beating you, you will see his nose ahead of yours. Also, it is bragging rights.

look at my banner :D all those cars are within a tenth of a second at freeway speed.

Chris
09-28-2001, 08:27 PM
Exactly. Any difference is huge.

For example, cadillacs old suspension adjusted 100 times a second, and that was only once per foot of road at 70mph. Now it is 1000, and that is an inch or so. So a tenth is 10 feet. Pretty big, huh??

i know what a tenth is... i've drag raced enough to know that...
i just meant that the older zo6 car owners did not get gypped, as everyone stated...
even if you added the new zo6 to the list, they would all still be neck and neck for the whole competition...
given the choice, i would take the new zo6, of course, but i wouldnt feel jaded if i got one that has only 385hp (only?)
that is what i meant.
im in no way knocking the newer zo6, but it seems that everyone is knocking the older one, the forerunner dare i say...
that is what i meant

Chevy said the old Z06 would do 0-60 in 4 flat. They say the new one is sub-4, so 3.9, or 3.9724562725625124514. You never know. Either way, thats feckin fast:eek:
