Wiring looms from the SR20DE to SR20DET.

Hello Sorry if this has been asked before but I have a Nissan Silvia S15 with the SR20DE engine.

I have dropped a SR20DET engine into the car and most parts connect up to the exsiting wiring loom but my old engine had a dizzy cap and the new engine has independent coils.

Can I change the existing plugs on the loom?

I would put the loom in from the S14a but as my car is the Varietta model I would loose my hood controls and there is just to much extra wires that would have to be changed.

Thanks
Mark

You can run the SR20DE Distributer on the DET but your stock ECU will need to be reflashed to handle the added airflow

didnt some variettas come turbocharged stock? just buy a oem loom from the dealership and use it.

-edited for clarifacation

As Far As I Know - Yes

Just Change over to the Distributer your Turbo Motor and run your N/A ECU... it will basically be like running a turbo on your Stock S15 engine so you'll need to have the ECU Reflashed before it will run right.

Im not positive that it will work. but I know thats how they got the SRs to work over here back in the day.

I have done this now; the car turns over but does not fire up. One thing is the rotor arm could go on 3 different ways so the timing could be out.

Could I run the S14 ECU with the S15 wiring loom? The connections are the same but just wondering if it would run? The reason being I’m not too sure who will be able to sort out the ECU for me!

Found some place to do the ECU, not going to be a problem. So now its just trying to get the timing right.
