Hello,
I just bought a Vector M12, 1997 black # 8. I am looking forward to restoring the car to its original state and better. If anyone has any information on original parts used on the M12 I would appreciate any help you could provide me in determining what was used so I know how to replace or upgrade in the process of restoring.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks, Greg

hey, that's great. It's cool to see an owner of an m12 on the forum. myself, i have no information for you on restoring the car, seeing as how i've never had experience with them to be able to gather restoration information, if that makes any sense. but, kudos all the same.
hey, send pictures if you want. I'd love to see your car!

PLEASE!
good luck with the excellent purchase!

I may have some of the original wheels for an M12. I'd need to know the bolt pattern and sizing of the originals to know for sure.

Congrats on finding one of the M12s.
I worked on artwork of the gauges and labeling along with the design of Warranty Handbook and the Owners Handbook outlining all of the controls and features of the car.
I have these manuals available along with replacement labels for the engine compartment.
There are many parts of the M12 taken from the bins of Lamborghini, and also Ford and Pontiac. Vector wanted to keep the price down so they robbed parts bins of Ford and GM along with the Diablo. The front turn signal lights are from the Mazda Miata as I recall and the rear tail lights were Pontiac.
The interior was purely custom fitted leather and ultra suade material.
I have many factory photos of the Vector M12s being built and may have photos of your car, not sure, but I'll check.
I also have the huge M12 brochure in a pdf format and some "insider info" too.
I have the emergency tool that raises the headlights manually also.
Let me know if you are interested in any of this stuff.

I was the original owner of the Black with red interior M-12 that was built for the Sultan of Behrain. I also was the original owner or the silver with blue interior I believe that was #11. I have a complete factory/dealers shop manual. Myself and Gordon Muir from the then Auto Toys (he is now at Ft Lauderdale Collection) spent 31/2 weeks on the silver M12 trying tostraighten the quality assurance items and miss designs out such as the one wrong fan of the two for the AC blowers. Thats why it never gets cold enough. One blade set runs in the wrong direction. After the fuel rail caught fire the second time we just kind of shook are heads. I've owned 3 Lamborghinis and never had the problems I had engine wise with the Vector. I spent a few days at Green Cove Springs at the factory. They were in bad need of quality assurance hold points program. It was a shame the car had so much potential. The original black car broke down so much the Auto Toystore basically took the car back and gave me the new silver one off the showroom floor. An omen should have been that night when I pulled in to get gas and neither door would open. With no windows to open it was a serious problem (the black had the 3" lower window that would open) the silver didn't. Luckily the valet at my hotel understood my hand signs and opened the door from the outside. I have a good bit of knowledge on the cars and Gordon is still a good friendalthough I don't see him as much. My new toy a 740 HP 996 turbo just doesn't seem to need Gordon as much as my Lambos and Vectors LOL

Hello to all who have replied to my posting regarding the purchase of a Vetor M 12,
I am sorry I did not see you replies sooner and respond to the same. As the dates show I did not get any responces for several months and or years on some so I stopped checking the posting.
I have sent a private responce to any and all that had inforamtion and or parts. I hope you got the e-mail and contact me. I am in the middle of a complete restoration and imporvement of the M 12. I am making over 3,000 changes to the car during the restoration process. The changes range from as small as properly routing a wiring harness to a complete re-design of systems and new parts fabricated to make them work properly.
Thank you for your responce and please contact me if you have any information or parts regarding the M 12,
Greg

congrats on the buy.
why are you restoring the car to original condition? what did the previous owner do?
o and btw, how many miles are on the car?
the bolt pattern can be found by your local Lambo dealer(same pattern) or search google for lambourghini Diablo stats or something to that affect.
