Hi all,
I bought a "certified" 2000 camry and for some time now I hear a noise (like squick, metal into metal type) when going over bumps. I went to the dealership and left them the car, they called me and said that they couldn't hear anything. I spent some time with the tecnician, but couldn't get it to produce the sound consistently, only a couple of times, which he said he didn't hear ... Anyway shortly after that I saw a bulletin at alldata and searcing through forums including AF I found lots of information about a noise in the front suspension that maybe the same as the problem I'm having.
I have the extended warranty which expires in 6 months or so. I was wondering if I can get help from anyone that has had the same problem.
1. How do I help their hearing? The noise can be heard when going over bumps, but I can't reproduce it by let's say pushing the front down by hand and also the dealership doesn't have a terrain that can be used.
2. Since this (or similar) problem is described in a technical bulletin can I get them to fix it for free - if I'm lucky it maybe covered by the warranty.
Thanks in advance for any comments and/or ideas.

yes, your problem is covered by your extended warranty. the problem is the strut tower mount. the only way to reproduce the sound, which i must admit is the most annoying sound on earth is to hit a bump in the road, occassionally several times.
i believe there is a TSB for your year model camry, so you can remind your repair man of that. that often unclogs their ears, because they dont want to be sued.
