Tire Recommendations Anyone??

I need a new set of 4. Anyone have tires they can recommend? I'm thinking of the Goodyear Tripple Tred for 117.00 each or the Comfor Tred for 97.00. Also looking at the Yokohama AVID TRZ for about 65.00 each.

I'm very happy with my Michelin "Hydro-Edge's". (I replaced a set of "X's" with over 110 kmiles on them.)

My son installed a set of Yoko's (don't know what series) on his Tribute. I can hear him coming down the street they're so noisy ... and they are not going to last very long. But some of this is due to underinflation, I believe. He now keeps them up in pressure, but too late to know if the tire brand is any good or not.

Mine came with Yokohama Avid Touring tires on it and they seem to be good tires at a good price, only around $60 a tire. They are a best seller on www.tirerack.com and have a UTQG rating of 620 A B.

I'm getting the Pirelli's P3000 Cinturato. These tires are getting excellent reviews and are not expensive at all!! They also come with a 85,000 mile warranty.

I just replaced my Michellin X Radials (Costco's version of the "street" 80000 mi. tire) after 78000 mile and they were great. Costco and Sams both still sell an 80000 mile michellin, may still be called the X radial. I put on a goodrich tire as my van is at 130000, but I would not hesitate to throw the extra cash for a lower mileage vehicle for the Michellins.

At the lower cost end...I've had good luck with Goodyear Viva/Viva2..smooth ride at proper inflation, quiet. Used them on 5 different vehicles. 60k tires but at 55k, the ride gets a little harsh even tho tread left. 215/70R/15 was about $45-50 at Wally World.

I've got a '99 that I bought back in November 2002. It had Good Year Integrity P215/70R15s on it and I ran them until February of this year. I never liked the handling of the van with them on, but was not aware that they were the problem. I was getting flat tires fairly regularly due to the fact that I live a mile off the pavement here in the Ozarks of Arkansas. I inquired as to what the ruaral mail delivery people were running and most had the Hankook 6 ply tires. I had a set of four Hankook Dynapro AS LT215/75R15s installed and the handling is 100% better. I no longer have flats or haven't to this point and the noise is no more than the ones I replaced. They seem to be wearing well and I'm so far pleased with them. I believe they were around $340 mounted and balanced including tax. I had never heard of Hankook before. Just some input and not a recommendation.

I have a set of 4 Michellin "Harmony" tires.
I am very happy with them.
www.tirerack.com is a great place to do some research. You can also read reviews written by people who have bought the tires. I would strongly suggest that you focus on the reviews written by people with minivans....

We have a 1999 Windstar that came with Mich Symetry tires. We raplaced them with cooper, then Symetry again, all withing 50,000. We put Goodyear Comfort treads on this year and they have been a cut above averything else we had had. Great ride, excelent dry and wet traction and ride is very good.

I took a long road trip last week and got 24.50 and 24.31 mpg with the tires at 44 psi. I think this is up a few mpg with my old tires. I attribute the gain the a firmer tire, although I have done a bit of ignition work recently.

Hey thanks. I work for Goodyear those tires also have valcanic ash in the compound for extra grip in the winter snow and ice. Its 3 tires in one High performance, touring,and weather all in one package.I have heard great feed back so far.I have Good year Viva 2 and happy with them so far, may try the Assurance later.

I have a 95 Windstar and a 96 Gran Marquis- I am very satisfied with the Yokohama Avid Touring on both. Did the van first ant the Merc a few months later. Purchased online from discount tire direct and satisfied with their price and shipping. I used Michelin before and will not go back.

I've been putting Cooper's on my cars/trucks/vans for about 10yrs now. Have always gotten excellent service out of them. Their prices are excellent as well. Currently have Cooper Trendsetter SE's on my 2001 windstar. Smooth, quiet, excellent wear & 23mpg's. Got the Trendsetter SE's installed for around $70/ea + tax.
