Battery drain, (F/P INJ ) fuse.

I am having problems with my battery being drained on my 95 probe. I have located the short with volt ohm meter (connected between postive terminal on battery and cable) to be on the circuit with the 30amp fuse labeled as ( F/P INJ ). Am I correct in thinking this is the fuel pump / injector circuit? I have the fuel pump wires disconected at the back of the car by the inertia switch. I have the injector wires disconected. I cant seem to find where the short is.
I am correct in thinking that I should get no reading on my meter when the car is off, right??. All interior fuses have been removed. The short only goes away when I remove the 30 amp F/P INJ fuse.
Also where or is there a fuel pump relay?
Thanks for any help.

I just discovered your exact problem on my 94GT. It has been sitting for two weeks. Bat was dead. Troubleshot drain to fuse block and main 30A fuse that goes into engine harness. The load will peg my charger @ 20A. Did you ever find your problem? I didn't see any response to your post. Let me know if you can.

After unplugging all fuses and wires I finally found problem. First although the reading I was getting on my meter showed a short on that fuse the short was drawing no amperage. I discovered this when I used a test light and not the meter, the light would not light. I thought that was strange the meter showed a short the light did not. So I hooked the meter up showing the short and then connected the test light also. As soon as the test light was connected (load on short) the meter would go to zero. Not even enough amperage to light-up the test light. This obiously could not be causing the battery drain. Once I knew this i turned back to the altenator. The automotive stores with the digital altenator testers keep reading everything fine, altenator charging and diodes good. What they didnt show was that the altenator was staying on (shorted) when shut down. It took one of the older style altenator testers (needle gauges not digital) to show that something was not right. First one tester at a Pep Boys (although I took it to two Pep Boys and only one showed short) store and then one at a Parts Plus before I spent the $177 for a new altenator. Also I exchanged the battery at Walmart (no charge) as the previous new one had been up and down so much it did not want to charge up anymore. With new altenator and another new battery and all is good and still charged.

The altenator also was causing my charger to peg when I tried to charge the battery the last few times I tried to charge it.

Thanks. That's what I had suspected. I couldn't find anything else on that circuit that could cause that much drain.
