Hi! Thanks for looking at this. I own a 1996 windstar 3.8L with about 89,000 mi. Whatever you do don't ever.......ever, ever, ever buy one of these. We have had just about all of the problems listed. We are getting rid of ours very soon. The other day our intake manifold started leaking. I replaced all of the gaskets of course. But then when going to put it back together. Another problem arose. The steel tube that runs through it was corroted and seems to have broken off at the elbow joint and there is a peice lodged in the longest part of the tube. Soooo....My question is what is the correct name of the steel tube? I looked for a part number and can't find one and the dealer parts guy doesn't know. (he must be new, because I am sure this is a fairly common problem!!!) The repair manual doesn't say what it is, it only talks about the rubber intake hose that this peice connects to. Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated.
Thanks Much!!!

I know what you are talking about...I am in the process of replacing my intake man. gasket too. My tube looks O.K...I guess you need to disconnect it from the Big Rubber hose and bring it to the dealer or you can go to the dealer and they have the diagram of the intake manifold and you can just point out that piece from their diagram. They will know what you are looking...
