Anyone have any idea where I can find the HP & Tq for a KA24E at different RPMs? Looking for the best RPM/Hp combo without blowing it up or slowing the car.
Thanks,
Mike

I hear that at 5000rpm or so (more) the engine starts to loose alittle power, hope that helps

with no mods 5k is a good shift point. exhaust especially and headers, intake will open it up more at a high rpm so you could go closer to 6. but with no mods it totally dies at about 5000

^^^^^^^^^^^hahaha, J Swigz get in here and close this thread or at least delete that previous comment before we get an "SR > KA > *" argument going on in here.
P.S. You could delete it since it is irrelevent to what he was asking.

People have their personal preference. If they own a single cam and wish to spend money on it, to them it's not "throwing it away". Please be considerate of this if continuing to post in this thread. If you've got something to offer the thread starter then by all means do, but if you're going to tell him that spending money on his car is a waste then please keep your comments to yourself.
Now, back on topic or I will start deleting posts.

On a 15 yr. old engine with assuming close, if not more, than 150,000 miles you probably only wanna go to about 4500-5000 max but yeah just feel it out, you can tell when your engine starts struggling and when you should shift.

Ya well you can get good power out of about any motor.....with the proper funding. I'm just saying the twin cam motor is a better starting point. But like you say all people are different, and have their own preferences, so I'll try to leave it alone.

"If you're still wondering whether or not you should even both turbo'ing your SOHC KA, take a look at a few of these vids.
They are of my SOHC powered S13, running 1 bar of boost. 350whp and 370ft/lbs of torque with only a set of forged pistons and a reground cam."

A) WTF is with the Mega PCD wheel Tsuchia is holding?
B) you can pick up late model twin cams for what? 300 bucks? Twin Cam why not.
C) Theres nothing wrong with running the SOHC but they are gonna run into a even bigger brick wall than the DOHC guys when trying to find parts.
D) you have no room to talk about what people dont know about after that Stallowning you recived from NissanEleitist
And Most Importantly WTF is with this thread? is it really that hard to tell when the motor runs out of steam? just run 500RPM or so after it peaks and then shift.
and more importantly. who cares about how many miles on the Odometer versus peak RPM when KA24Es are 100$ a pop? you spend more time shit kicking a cheap car and you'll learn much more about car control than you ever will trying to baby a cheap car around.

This is not a place for personal attacks. If you want to do that, at the very least take it to PM.
