Which should I get first. Header or cat-back?

Next paycheck I will be getting one of the two, just not sure what to go with. SUggestions would be totally awesome.

I always tell people to run a header first. Depending on what kind of header you get it will already change up the sound of even your stock exhaust and that will help you with your aftermarket exhaust so you dont end up getting your exhaust hooked up liking the sound then the header goes and changes it then you have to go back and do some stuff to the exhaust. My buddy did the magnaflow dual exit exhaust and loved the sound but after he got his header his exhaust sounded like crap so he had to slap in some resination.

I know first hand that the pacesetter armor coated header with the rksport single exit catback with magnaflows high flow cat resinated sounds kick ass.

I think I am going to go with a Pacesetter header. I have heard lots of possitive comments about them. No real negatives.

I was pleased with the OBX header.

Somebody told me that the Pacesetter header adds like 15 HP or something like that. Is this true?

I think its something like 5-8hp but like 10-15 torque. Could be wrong but I believe those are the numbers.

good price. i just looked up the header and got a price of 253 shipped so less where you found it and the site i go to ussually is cheaper than anywhere i shop. but depending if your going for looks. if not buy the uncoated one. save a 100 bucks. just my two cents

Be sure to check out the j-body book thread at the top of the forum and just shop around. And the coating isnt just for looks it keeps the header a tad bit cooler and helps allow air to pass more freely through the pipes. Also uncoated pipes have a better tendancy to crack after time or at least from what I have seen. Frankly if it where me I would eat the 100 for something worth the money. Also, yes, go pacesetter.

I got stainless steal, so what your saying is that they will crack sooner. If i wrap them with some heat sheald tape it would help out keeping them cool.

I thought those 4-1 headers actually sacrificed HP in the low-end but gained power at top-end. But if it adds 10-15 torque I would think it would accelerate faster. Your numbers seem a bit high though.

The numbers I gave where for 4-2-1 not 4-1. As for wrapping the header should help a bit with the uncoated but from what I hear you should never wrap the coated ones or at least not pacesetters.
