Alright A just kicks huge ass.

It is the first non F50 photoshopped or based piece of garbage, thank god!

F60 all the way!

The car looks "unbalanced" like the front end is bigger and longer than the back. It looks weird, but not bad. I'm sure a company like Ferrari knows what they are doing. I'd go with A, but with a wing like all the other F series had so it looks more "balanced". Beautiful car. They should make a yellow one:silly2:

How much is it gonna be anyways?

"Chennai, April 17: The design prototype of the Ferrari “FX” – this being the production code of this limited range model which carries on the tradition of the F40 and F50 – will debut at the “Artedinamica: Ferrari and Maserati at the Contemporary Art Museum of Tokyo” international Exhibition, according to the Ferrari website.

The official inauguration will be on April 26. The Exhibition will be open to the public from April 27 to July 14.

The Ferrari FX, which will officially be presented at the Paris Auto Show on September 26, will bring to the road Ferrari’s most advanced technology, directly derived from the Formula 1 World Championship experience.

The FX represents the ultimate expression of technological transfer from F1 to Ferrari’s road-going GTs, the conception of which has always benefited from racing experience at the highest level."

"After years of rumours and spy shots, Ferrari has finally released a picture of its upcoming supercar - ironically expected to take over the crown as the fastest production car in the world from the McLaren F1, produced by the Scuderia's traditional on-track rival.
Code-named 'FX' for the moment, though likely to carry the F60 nameplate, the new car boasts a rumoured 465kW 6.0-litre V12 engine powering all wheels - a first for a road going Ferrari - the lines of the car are clearly influenced by the marque's World Championship winning F1 cars.
http://www.news24.com/Images/Photos/20020417141609FXc-500.jpg
Despite its larger capacity, the V12 actually weighs 30% less than the F50's engine.
A maximum of 350 examples are expected to be produced and there will be no open top version. The retail price is expected to be in the region of R4.5-million.
Weighing in at around 1200kg, the FX is constructed using carbon fibre and features scissor style doors hinged at the front. Large Brembo brakes scrub off the speed and the suspension is electronically controlled to keep the car stuck to the road.
http://www.news24.com/Images/Photos/20020417141510FXb-500.jpg
The limited series model, which carries on the tradition of the F40 and F50 - albeit missing its predecessors' large rear wing - the 'FX' will debut at the 'Artedinamica: Ferrari and Maserati, at the Contemporary Art Museum of Tokyo's International Exhibition on April 26. The official introduction, however, will be in the last week of September, at this year's Paris Motorshow - Mondial du Transport Routier.

Ferrari has yet to release specs of the 'FX' but it is rumoured to be equipped with a 450-485kW engine powering all wheels through a F1 inspired paddle operated sequential gearbox. Top speed should be in the region of 370km/h, with 0 - 100km/h coming up in around 3 seconds.

The 'FX' will bring to the road Ferrari's most advanced technology, directly derived from the Formula 1 World Championship experience. The FX represents the ultimate expression of technological transfer from F1 to Ferrari's road-going GTs, the conception of which has always benefited from racing experience at the highest level."

"Michael Schumacher's next company car could be the new Ferrari F60, a prototype of which is shown here during high-speed testing on Ferrari's test track in Maranello. Planned for 2003 under the code name F140, it will be the successor of the sold out F50. It will be Ferrari's answer to both the Mercedes SLR and the Porsche GT.
The future top-of-the-line Ferrari will adapt numerous technical Formula 1 elements like the body's carbon-fiber material, aluminium chassis, and titanium. Power will come from a V-12 with an electro-hydraulic six-speed gearbox. Performance is rumoured to rate around 650 HP, acceleration 3.6 sec/100 km, with a price tag of about 1.0 million German marks (approximately $448,000)."

"Ferrari confused its fans - and created a near riot - when it showed its new supercar in Tokyo this week. Here we have two more views of the car, showing the tail and a side view.
Originally called "FX" in pre-release publicity, the Tokyo car, seen at an art exhibition "Artedinamica: Ferrari and Maserati," at the Contemporary Art Museum of Tokyo's International Exhibition was named "F140" - but we still believe it's going to be the new Farrari F60 when it is "officially" launched at the Paris Motor Show later this year..

Insiders say the car will have a 485 kW V12 engine, suifficient to hurl it to 330 km/h, while the big news is that there are no fancy wings to hold the back end down at that speed - instead the designers have used huge venturis under the rear deck to provide the necessary downforce.

Extra grip will be provided by the car's all-wheel-drive transmisson - a first for ferrai - while the tyres chosen are quite extreme.
http://www.news24.com/Images/Photos/20020502093741F140rear.jpg
At the front are 245/40 ZR18, while the back gets 345/35 ZR19 - and naturally they're Bridgestone's just like the F1 car uses.

It was unveiled alongside a clay model of the Maserati Quattroporte, also scheduled for launch at Paris. Designed by Pininfarina, and expected to be powered by a 4.3-litre V8, the car aims to tempt buyers away from rivals such as the Jaguar XJ and Mercedes S-Class."

"Meet Ferrari's first million dollar roadcar, the FX.

Designed to succeed the F40 and F50, the mid-engined V12 two-seater - perhaps to be rebadged F60 or even Enzo (in tribute to Ferrari's founder) - is Ferrari's most advanced road car to date.

Its maker says the car represents the ultimate expression of technology transer from Formula 1 to road-going cars.

The FX prototype pictured makes its world debut at the 'Artedinamica' Ferrari and Maserati at the Contemporary Art Museum of Tokyo international exhibition opening tomorrow.

It'll stay on display at the museum until July 14. The FX's international automotive debut will take place at the Paris Auto Show on September 26. Ferrari is still persisting in calling the prototype a design study, but it's thought highly unlikely the production model will look radically different.

The styling suggests Ferrari is keen to emphasis the relationship between its road cars and F1 machines. Already, some are suggesting the FX is awkward and too angular.

But even if it isn't likely to be remembered as a design classic, the new car will be a blistering drive. It features the very latest technology derived from the company's Formula 1 and GT experience.

The car is to be powered by a McLaren F1-chasing, mid-mounted V12 which, thanks to variable valve-timing, is good for 484kW.

Weighing 30 percent less than the 4.7-litre unit in the F50, the new 6.0-litre engine will punch the car to 100kmh from a standing start in 3.2 seconds, will do 0-160kmh in around 6s - making it half a second quicker than an F50 - and be good for 330kmh.

It's being said that the new supercar exceeds the power output of Ferrari's 1989 Formula One car. The aim is to leave the McLaren F1, current holder of the 'world's fastest roadcar' title, eating dust.

Construction relies heavily on carbonfibre to reach the weight target of just 1200kg and power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed F1-style sequential gearbox.

An early prototype of Ferrari's FX
Suspension is by double uneven length wishbones all round; dampers are electronically-controlled to adjust the attitude of the car at pace. And that's without a rear wing. It's now clear the huge rear wing suggested by spy photos of early prototypes - the black car pictured - was just a decoy.

The price-tag will be as stratospheric as the performance - they're already talking half a million Euros, or just over $NZ1 million. Which means the average first division Lotto win will barely make a nice deposit. Customer delivery begins in December.

According to reports from Europe, the Ferrari's development has been plagued with difficulties. In the most serious incident, a prototype was destroyed by fire as it was being driven at the firm's Italian test track.

Despite the fact that the car carried extinguishers, and a fire engine was on hand, flames reduced the carbon bodywork to ashes in less than an hour.

Ferrari decided to show the FX prototype at the 'Artedinamica' show for two reasons. One is because Japan is a hugely important market. Secondly, the designer is Ken Okuyama, a Japanese stylist who also penned the 2000 Ferrari Rossa."

"Ferrari has revealed the first official picture of what it claims will be its fastest model when it makes its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.

The FX is powered by a 650hp 6.0-letre V12 engine that will catapult the car from 0-96kph in 3.2 seconds, beating the F50's 3.7 record.
Called FX by Ferrari, the new supercar is expected to be badged F60.

The FX is powered by a 650hp 6.0-litre V12 engine that will catapult the car from 0-96kph in 3.2 seconds, beating the F50's 3.7 record.

This motor weighs 30% less than the 4.7-litre unit in the F50.

By using carbonfibre to make the body, weight has been kept to a minium. Ferrari's aim was to keep the FX under 1,200kg.

Like the F50, Ferrari wants to forge a link between its Formula One racing cars and road versions.

The front of the mid-engined FX has a nose aping that of Schuey's grand prix toy. As well, drivers will be able to change seven forward gears on the steering wheel.

The FX uses a double wishbone suspension with electronically controlled dampers to yield what Ferrari insiders claim is ``ultimate'' downforce for such a road car.

The top speed has not been released yet, but is said by sources to be in excess of 340kph.

Ferrari aims to make each of its ``fastest'' cars faster than their predecessors.

The line started with the 288 GTO in 1984, F40 1987 and F50 in 1995.

The price of the FX is mostly likely to land at around 20 million baht in Europe. Including taxes, a local buyer can expect to fork out about 60 million baht."

April 16, 2002 seemed to be a normal day but then the unexpected happenned! A press release arrived from Maranello and yes, it is the news that every Ferrari fan has been expecting to hear ever since the F50 was released back in 1997. The F50's successor, the much-hyped F60 will be unveiled on April 27, ahead of its official launch in the 2002 Paris Motorshow in September 26 and here is the first official pic!

Happy birthday to me! :D

Definitely "A". But it does need a molded spoiler like the "B". Even without the wing, it is a beautiful car that is nicer than any Ferrari out there. I love it. :flash:

What I would like to see is something like the porposed 6000gt where it's the enzo with a spoiler (molded or not doesn't matter to me) to increase stability at moderately high speeds at the expense of the top speed. Thus creating an uncompromising and pretty much unbeatable track version of the enzo (the only thing that I can think of that would beat it is the TVR Speed 12 and Audi R8 which has been sold).

I would like it to look like this one, but i'm not sure about the wheels. i can't decide which ones i like so i just put the F50 wheels on it.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/379430F60copy.jpgI would pick option A because it sorta would look much better without a spoiler and just leave the stock wheels on.

The more I think about it, the more I would have liked to see a small spoiler on the back of the Enzo, something very much a kin to that which adorns the Zonda, small but funtional. It would help continue the F40-F50 style and also help balance the car's design when viewed from a 3/4 angle (as shown in the first post of this thread). Still, I have no real complaints about the Enzo's styling, in fact, I really like it. For those out there who are not convinced of its looks remeber this: It was designed by the stop watch and F1.
