I have a 2000 Windstar with the trailer package. The trouble is, no one can seem to tell me where the trailer wiring hooks up. The dealer said it is by the rear bumper (wrong) another post said by the spare (wrong) The only connector I see is coming from the interior of the rear of the van, and has the wiring for the back up sensors in it. My question is , would this be the connector I put the T connector into,? or is there another one in some mysterious place that I cannot find.

On my '99, there was a harness "pigtail" for trailer hookup, ....and info package shipped loosely in a extra plastic bag.

The trailer tow module was already wired inplace and all I had to do was hook the pigtail to an harness outlet that was underneath ... kinda on the RH side of the spare near the RH rear wheelwell. There was actually two tow harness connectors ... one only to be used if the trailer came with electric brakes. (Mine did not).

I have a 96' Windstar and with the trailer towing package in it as well.. Mine came with a small box with harness attachments and extra wiring for trailer braking attachment as well. My connection was made from the underside along the "H" frame on the left side of the spare tire. it had a dirt cap in it which once disconnected I was able to connect the snap in t connect and 4 way wire to the back of the bumper/hitch area. Not aware of any inside the vehicle persay, but good luck!
