on my way to the store to pick up some cigs and butter at walgreens for my mom.
just cruising and spot a rsx only when i get up close, the back says integra, and the side of it says type-r. now i'm confused cause i thought the integra version was only in japan, i thought in the us they called them rsx-s
well it had an exhaust, actually didnt sound ricey either. nice rims, but not sure if they were factory racing rims or not.
well he's about 2 cars in front and i get in the 3rd lane to pass up some cars, and end up almost on the side of him, until he punches it and squeels his tires as he's already going 25mph(its a little damp outside) and as it seems to me, he wants to run.
so i get behind him and light turns green and we go. the truck in front of him is going slow and we need an opening. finally he pushes the truck up and squeezes through at WOT
i hit it but let off a little looking back to see if i still have the space that he had. space is clear so i hit it WOT
i'm coming up on the side of him my rpm's are at 6500 and i'm loosing power, i shift early to 3rd(as my redline is 7000) and pull on him hard, i gain a car length in just a second, pull 2 lengths on him shortly after and finally he shuts down and i do also. i look at my speedometer and i was at 110mph on a 45
i get in my turning lane and the guy waves out the window screaming "nice run nice run"
i gave him a wave and went on about my way

Cool cool good run, I was just messing w/ a Type-S the other day when I had nothing in the car but the driver seat...it was a no go though, leaves me wondering.

One of the guys in the RSX forum showed us a pic of a North American RSX with "Honda Integra" labels on it, but I cant find it, its from a while ago

RSX is a Low - Mid 6s car to 60, but it takes a good driver to get the car to perform (IE not me)

0-60 - 6.2
1/4 - 14.9
maxes out at...ummm in MPH like 130 Gov limited

Its really onlt got about 2500rpm of power as its completely dead b4 5500

*Edit... http://thersxsite.com/kits/mugen/jspek.html
not the one I was looking for, but It'll do

probably a debadged type -s, that was rebadged as an integra type R, see a few of them around here, still clean looking cars though

possibly, but the type-r on the side of the car looked official.
it was pretty quick, he probably had I/H/E

well you can buy oem replace decals on ebay that sticks onto the sides
it's sad when people try to put labels on their car to try to make it something else
nice kill though

If more people can give nice short (but to the point) details, I would read about more races.

Good run though.

Yeah I think I've seen stock ones run a 14.7 and the newers ones run 14.4 @ 97 mph (when it was tested by a magazine)

I know that the older ones can get into 13s with I/H/E + Hondata tuning and can be really quick once rolling.

They arent trying to make it something it isn't, seeing as over there, they are marketing it as an Integra, not an RSX. It's not like the stuck an ///M Badge on the back of a 330ci or some such nonsense, just rebaged it to look Japanese market.

Anyways, good kill. Quick little cars, kinda cool, 'cept its FWD. Only problem I have with it. They can be quick, but it does take a good driver to run 'em quick, seeing as I ran doors with one up to 95.

Good run Young. You're getting some good action lately, good story with the Porsche too. The RSX is actually a pretty quick car and you never know what they have. Lovin' that 14.5psi though! Good job.

Generally 2 or more cars accelerate forward. Typically, one does so faster, and is awarded the win. There, now you don't have to waste any more time reading any. :disappoin

Young nice run man. I tried racing one of those awhile back, but the driver ended up being a complete dick who just kept swerving and telling me to pull over and fight. Nice to see you racing again.

And drewh, if reading a paragraph is too hard for you then you need to go back to school...or just go to school.

Yeah, what about the type-r sticker?

youngvr4

isnt type-r equivalent to type-s?

integra typ-r
rsx-s

lamehonda
06-07-2005, 02:00 AM
Not even close. Type-s is a not a serious track car. The type-r had 20 hp more than the S for 2002-2004, and was targeted towards enthusiasts rather than rich teenage kids.

its comparable to the difference between an older integra gsr and type r. gsr is like type s and type r is like...

Oh that is so below the belt lamehonda!

and since when was the Type R running 220hp??? In the US it was running 195, and the JDM had 200...both with less torque...dont be jealous cause a teenager could afford to get his own Type S with his own money

lamehonda

I got that info from japanese acura site. The type-r is set up for the track with upgraded suspension, brakes, wheels and tires, higher revving engine. You are confusing the old type-r with the newest one. We can't buy the new one in the states yet.

Sorry if someone is offended. I too like the type-s, but it isn't nearly as track ready and costly as the type-r.

BTW the car makes 220 hp at 8000 rpms

glad to see you used your stock twin turbo to beat up on some kid, i would do the same thing, but then i would find a guy out with his girl and rape his car over and over again to make him feel like a idiot

I see we think alike...I love just playing with the local ricers in their fart can'd Civics when they are riding with thier lady freinds. They cant turn down the challenge, but its almost like they know they will loose, and that always hurts in front of the lady friend.

Also, with the RSX in question, he may have done a full swap, engine, suspension, and all, and decided to go the extra length to get the "JDM Tizzlyte Yo!" look. We'll never know unless he hops on here and tells us?

if he did a full jdm swap i hand him some more credit, but i still would not mind to hand him a loss or 2

you see your pic above it says integra, and has a honda sign in the middle. thats exactly how this one was, exactly.

lamehonda

Did you see what side of the car he was sitting on?

I don't believe that right hand drive type-r s were ever built. So if it was a type-r, someone spent alot of money either making it look convincing or converting a real type-r. Almost as much of a waste of money as importing a skyline.

CassiesMan

I dont think badges and a motorswap cost all that much? And in Japan, I don't believe they have Acura as a brand, its an American thing that Honda did in order to convince people that it was a seperate Luxery brand, and that in Japan, it is called a Honda Integra. I could be wrong, however.

lamehonda
06-08-2005, 01:56 PM
I think that most of us knew that already. Many japanese manufacturers have premium brands in the states that don't exist anywhere else.
