Just thought I'd share, a local "metal" band called Brand New Sin; from my local area are on MTV. Here's their video (for those who care.: http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/brand_new_sin/audvid.jhtml (http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/brand_new_sin/audvid.jhtml) They had a song that got some radio play a year or 2 ago called "My World". I just think it's pretty crazy because the guitarist worked at a local music store and I used to buy drum heads and sticks from him. Probable not as interesting to anyone else as it is to me. Honestly it's not really my kind of music, but oh well.

thats cool, heh apparenty folks from canada love my friends band, they have a bunch of shows up there this summer on their tour, and they are getting interviewed on some radio station!
Whats really cool is they've sent a lot of their cd's over the big pool!

lol yeah, I think it actually gets played late at night on MTV2 (specifically headbangers ball). I think MTV only plays videos at like 3am.
That's cool about your friends band. I'd love that to happen to me, but the band I'm in is going no where and we all know it. But Brand New Sin got screwed by their original record label (some extension of Sony). They got almost no radio play, no promotion, and no video; then they got dropped. Makes me very weary about the whole business.

If you can even call them songs ;) TRL was the bomb for the first few months it was on, and before when it went by some other name (can't remember the name). It all went down hill as soon as they started playing Britney Spears (literally her first single). It reminds me of that song "video killed the radio star". It's more like MTV killed the video star. Oh well, there's always Fuse.
